Six Flags Hurricane Harbor

Six Flags Hurricane Harbor is a 47-acre water park located in Arlington near Six Flags Over Texas. Originally a Wet 'n Wild park, it was purchased by Six Flags in 1993. Hurricane Harbor is the largest water park in the Southwest and includes 26 slides and a variety of attractions.

This Texas water park features a lazy river, the sandy “Boogie Beach” and the million gallon “Surf Lagoon”, one of the largest wave pools ever built.

“Suntan Lagoon” offers water play activities for the entire family while “Hook’s Lagoon” features climbing nets, slides and water cannons for the kids. Guests can also hang ten on the “Surf Rider”.

Thrill slides include the two tentacle slides of “The Black Hole”, the “Der Stuka” and “Geronimo” free fall slides and the speed slides of “Shotgun Falls” and “Hydra Maniac”.

Also included is the huge raft ride, ” Tornado” which blasts guests down a 132-foot long tunnel and drops them 75 feet into the mouth of a six-story funnel.

Some of the other slides include the flumes of “Raging Rapids”, Caribbean Chaos” and “Atlantic Panic”. The “Blue Niagra” and “Blue Raider” feature enclosed slides and racing slides include “Banzai Boggans” and the “Kamikaze” racers. This Texas water park is also home to the largest toboggan raft ride in America, “Sea Wolf”, as well as the “Bubba Tub” raft ride.

Six Flags Hurricane Harbor is open May through September and requires a separate admission from Six Flags Over Texas theme park.

Six Flags Over Texas

Six Flags Over Texas is a 212-acre theme park located outside of the Dallas area in Arlington. Open since 1961, it is the oldest Six Flags park in America and attracts approximately three million visitors each year.

The park features world-class shows and attractions, over 50 rides and interaction with some famous Justice League superheroes and LOONEY TUNES favorites.

Guests enter this Texas theme park through Entry Plaza and travel to the various themed areas within the park listed below.

Looney Tunes USA is the sprawling kids section located near the front gate of the park. Guests can ride one of the ten LOONEY TUNES-inspired rides and meet and greet their favorite characters. Rides include “Yosemite Sam’s Texas Tea Cups”, “Sylvester & Tweety’s State Fair-Is Wheel”, and “Taz’s New York Adventure” tower ride. Kids can board “Daffy Duck’s Capital Tours”, LOONEY TUNES Bumper Cars”and “Elmer Fudd’s "America the Beautiful" train. Some wilder rides include “Wile E. Coyote’s Grand Canyon” roller coaster and the “Aquaman Splashdown” water ride. The “Silver Star Carousel” is also located in the nearby Sky Mall.

Mexico and Spain feature food and attractions with a Spanish flair. This area features the world’s first log flume ride, “El Aserradero”, as well as the bobsled coaster, “La Vibora”. Other rides here include the“La Fiesta de las Tazas” teacups, the “Conquistador” Spanish galleon and the twirling Mexican hat ride, “El Sombrero”.

Texas is home to the #1 wooden coaster in the world, “Texas Giant”, and the 85-mph steel hypercoaster, “Titan”. Other rides include the “Boot Scootin’” bouncing boots, “The Sidewinder” scrambler and “Chaparral Antique Cars”. Guests can also enjoy the animated “Yosemite Sam’s Gold River Adventure” or board an antique steam engine and travel to Boomtown on the Six Flags Railroad. There is also a live acrobatic show, “"Cirque Dreams Coobrila", performed nightly at the “Music Mill Amphitheater”.

Old South features “Runaway Mountain”, an enclosed steel coaster that speeds through the dark. Guests can also enjoy a live show at the “Southern Palace Theater”.

• The Tower Section is inspired by the tall attractions located here. It is home to the “Superman: Tower of Power” thrill ride which is the tallest ride of its kind in the world. Other thrill rides include the “Shock Wave “ coaster and a 150-foot plunge from “Dive Bomber Alley”. Water rides include the ”Caddo Lake Barge” and the “Roaring Rapids “ family raft ride. Guests can also enjoy the panoramic views from the top of the local ”Oil Derrick” and a ride on the “Six Flags Speedway Go Karts”.

Boomtown is home to the park’s oldest existing roller coaster and the world’s first tubular steel coaster, “The Runaway Mine Train”. “Tony Hawk’s Big Spin” coaster will be coming to Boomtown in Spring 2008. Also included are “The Gunslinger” swings and the “Ultimate Adventure Theater”. This area is also a stop for the Six Flags Railroad.

USA features the motion simulator attraction, “Spongebob Squarepants 4-D The Ride” and the looping “Acme Rock-N-Rocket”.

Gotham City has two thrill coasters dedicated to the Caped Crusader including the inverted coaster, “Batman The Ride” and the 70-mph “Mr. Freeze”. Younger guests can enjoy the “Batwing” planes and the interactive water fountains of the “Gotham City Sprayground”.

Goodtimes Square features several family rides as well as the classic wooden coaster, “Judge Roy Scream”. Other wild rides include the “Flashback” boomerang coaster and “Crazy Legs” gondola ride. Younger guests can take a ride on the bumper cars, the “Texas Chute” parachutes and the “Cloud Bouncer” hot-air balloons.

Guests can also enjoy the nightly parade through the park that features Justice League and Looney Tunes characters.

Six Flags Over Texas theme park offers a variety of ticket options and is open seasonally with varying operating hours.

Speed Zone Dallas

Speed Zone Dallas is a small amusement park mostly comprised of various types of vehicle racing rides. The faster attractions include the 300 horse powered “Top Eliminator” dragsters and the Formula 1 races of the “Grand Prix”. More mild rides include the “Turbo Track” and “Slick Trax”. This park also features the “Speedway” miniature golf course and the “Electric Alley” video arcade.

Splash Amarillo

Splash Amarillo water park is a 14-acre park located in the Texas panhandle. It is open from May through August and offers six water attractions as well as sand volleyball courts and an arcade. Water features include a wave pool, “Sparky’s Lazy River” and the interactive kiddie pool, “Splash Island Adventure”. Slides include two 4-story speed slides, three serpentine slides and the “Sidewinder” tube ride. The park provides free parking along with free tubes and mats for some of the attractions.

Splash Kingdom

Splash Kingdom is a 10-acre water park located in Canton and is hailed as East Texas’ largest water park. It features a sand volleyball court, a lazy river and a wave pool with a concert stage. Slides include two tube slides, two body slides and a body bowl.

The centerpiece of the water park is the castle in the children’s area which includes a shallow pool with slides and interactive water features.

The “Party Castle” is located at the entrance of the park and features an arcade and a 3D glow-in-the-dark indoor mini golf course.

Splash Kingdom provides free parking, tubes and life jackets and is open from May through August with varying operating hours. The “Party Castle” is open year-round.
