Storybook Island

Storybook Island is an 8-acre non-profit children's park in Rapid City that is open Memorial Day through Labor Day. Operated by local Rotary clubs, the park is supported by donations and is free to the public. Guests can wander the park and enjoy over 140 fairytale and nursery rhyme sets as well as enjoy a live performance at the McDonald' Storybook Island Theatre. The park also includes the "Storybook Line" train.

Thunder Road Family Fun Park

Thunder Road Family Fun Park is a small family amusement park with locations in Aberdeen, Sioux Falls and Watertown. The facilities are open May through September and include arcades, water war areas, go-karts and miniature golf courses

WaTiki Indoor Waterpark Resort

WaTiki Indoor Waterpark is a 30,000 square-foot facility adjoining the WaTiki Reef Suites, La Quinta Inn & Suites and Fairfield Inn & Suites in Rapid City. This Polynesian themed facility is South Dakota's largest indoor water park and is open year round.

Attractions include a spa, lazy river, six large slides and a funnel raft ride. Children’s play areas include an arcade, kiddie pool and the "Koko Kingdom" sprayground with multi-level water fort, slides, pipe falls and tipping bucket.

Wild Water West Waterpark & Adventurepark

Wild Water West Waterpark and Adventurepark is a small water park/amusement park in Sioux Falls that is open May through September. The water park attractions include a lazy river, two splash pools and a six-story slide tower with four slides.

Children’s play areas include the zero-entry kiddie pool as well as a multi-level interactive water play fort at "Caribbean Falls" with slides, pipe falls, bubblers and tipping bucket. Kids will also enjoy the water animals, alligator walk and log walk at the activity pool.

The Adventurepark area includes go-karts, paintball, miniature golf, bumper boats and batting cages.

Wylie Park

Wylie Park is a 210-acre public park in Aberdeen with four separate amusement park areas as well as a campground, playgrounds and canoe and paddle boat rentals.

Amusement parks include Wylie Thunder Road, which features go-karts and bumper boats, and Wylie Thunder Mountain Miniature Golf. Both facilities are open May and September with varying operating hours.

The other two amusement parks include Storybook Land and The Land of Oz children's parks. Storybook Land features a large castle and allows guests to explore and climb around the scenes of their favorite nursery rhymes. They can also enjoy the areas two petting zoos and ride the "Storybook Land Express" miniature train. This park is open April through October and admission is free.

The Land of Oz area features characters and attractions from the "Wizard of Oz." by L. Frank Baum, a resident of Aberdeen in the 1880's. This area also includes a 24-foot climbing wall and is open Memorial Day through Labor Day.
