Known as "North Carolina's mile-high theme park", it originally opened in 1960, closed in 2002 and was reopened in May 2007 sporting millions of dollars of renovations.The park is open May through November and includes over a dozen rides and attractions within an authentic Old West town with two saloons, schoolhouse, jail and a church. There are also live-action shows with gunfights and bank robberies as well as old time musicians, can-can dancers and Indians. Guests arrive at the park via a chair lift that takes them 3300 feet to the park entrance.
