SeaWorld San Diego is a marine education and adventure theme park located on the shores of Mission Bay and part of the Busch Entertainment Corporation family of companies.
Founded in 1964, this 190-acre park was the first of the three SeaWorld theme parks, with the others in Orlando, Florida and San Antonio, Texas.

Animal exhibits at this California theme park include “Penguin Encounter”, home to more than 300 penguins and “Manatee Rescue”, a 215,000-gallon freshwater river that is home to a number of rescued and rehabilitated manatees.
Also included is “Rocky Point Preserve”, home to California sea otters and bottlenose dolphins and “Wild Arctic”, a multilevel ecosystem that features polar bears, beluga whales, artic foxes, seals and walruses. “Shark Encounter” allows guests to view an assortment of different sharks, eels, barracuda and venomous fish through an underwater acrylic tunnel.
SeaWorld San Diego is also home to several aquariums dedicated to different marine life around the world. They include the “Freshwater Aquarium”, “Aquarium de la Mer” and the “World of the Sea Aquarium”. Guests can get hands-on experience with sea urchins, starfish and hermit crabs at the “California Tide Pool” and touch and feed California bat rays at the “Forbidden Reef”. Guests can also purchase food to feed the flamingos at “Flamingo Cove” and the seal and sea lions at “Pacific Point”.
The “Wild Arctic and Dolphin Interactions” allow guests to get in the water and interact with white whales and dolphins as well as get up close with seals, walruses and polar bears. There is also the more intense “Trainer for a Day” program and the “Dolphin Encounter” which allows guests to interact with dolphins without getting wet.
This California theme park also features incredible shows like "Believe", featuring choreography between the killer whales, trainers and beautiful music.
Other popular shows include “Dolphin Discovery” and a comedy show starring sea lions and otters called “Clyde and Seamore’s Risky Rescue”.
During the summer, guests can enjoy “Cirque de la Mer”, a fascinating show that combines comedy, music, acrobatics and amazing special effects.
Rides include the “Journey to Atlantis” water coaster and the “Shipwreck Rapids” river raft ride.
Guests can also ride across Mission Bay in the “ SeaWorld Skyride” or go up 265 feet on the “SeaWorld Skytower” and see up to 100 miles in every direction. There is also the“ Wild Arctic” simulated helicopter ride to an Arctic base station.
Shamu’s Happy Harbor is playground paradise with a two-story tower of nets, tunnels and slides. It also features the “Wahoo Two” fun ship. Guests can also climb rock walls and win prizes at “Coco Loco Arcade and Games”.
